Crucial to winning any bid
is having the right examples and case studies to show commissioners that you
are competent and know what you are doing. Without them, all you have is empty words and
aspirations; some commissioners may still go for this but the majority will
want examples that you have done this before.
Case studies can vary from
big to small, as long as they have substance behind them. It could be something as simple as
implementing a new training course, or a complicated implementation of a new
clinical pathway. Make sure there is a
positive story behind all of them and if possible, back them up with hard facts
and outcomes.
In an ideal world, create
a library of case studies and add to it on a rolling basis. This can be done in ‘down time’ or as a
regular scheduled task (say on a weekly basis).
It may seem like a chore, but the amount of time you will save down the
line will hopefully make it worth it.
